Arthur Edman, born in Stockholm year 2003, is the principle bassoonist of the Royal Academic Orchestra (one of the oldest orchestras in Europe) and member of the Royal Academic Orchestra’s Wind Quintet. Edman currently studies at the Royal Collage of Music in Stockholm (KMH) in the class of Anders Engström (principle bassoonist of the Royal Swedish Orchestra). Edman previously studied at Lilla Akademien in Stockholm, an educational institution for musically gifted children and adolescents under the protection of Her Royal Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden. Edman has been teaching at Lilla Akadmien since 2023 with a class of eight bassoonists. Edman is a skilled bassoonist as well as a pianist and composer.

Edman started playing the bassoon at the age of 9 and at the age of 10 he won his first international music competition. Edman has won 18 international music competitions in many countries such was Sweden, England, Spain, Germany, Israel, Singapore, Serbia, Italy and Russia. This young musician regularly performs at concerts and has performed as a soloist on renowned stages such as Konserthuset (home of the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra), the Royal Palace of Stockholm, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Svetlanov Hall in Moscow International Hall of Music and in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall (home of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra).

Edman regularly takes part in charity concerts and organizes concerts for young musicians - a work for which he has been awarded with cultural scholarships.

Under the past few years Edman has performed at over 350 concerts.

Edman has performed in multiple concerts arranged by the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation and International Fund of Culture and Science ”Harmony" between 2016 and 2021.

In 2021, Edman performed as a soloist on the grand opening concert of the festival ”Moscow Meets Friends” with the chamber orchestra ”Moscow Virtuosi” under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov himself and in 2022 Edman would perform as a soloist with orchestra on the ceremonial opening concert of the newly constructed Queen Silvia Concert Hall in Stockholm, in the presence of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Sweden. Later that same year, Edman would perform as a soloist with orchestra at Festival O/Modernt in Ulriksdal’s Palace Theatre (Confidencen) and also partake in O/Modernt’s concert series in Konzerthaus Berlin.
