Annabelle Wei, violin

At 14 years old, Annabelle Wei is an award winning violinist and composer having won top prizes at the Oscar Rieding (Slovenia), Vivace International, ODIN International, the Golden Classical Music Awards, and Constantine the Great International Competitions. In 2019, she made her solo recital debut at the National Hall in Celje, Slovenia, and the same year at the Rendell Room of the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. In 2022, she debuted as a soloist with the New York Chamber Players Orchestra at the Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, featured as a winner of the Sound Espressivo Laureate Gala. This past May, she performed as a soloist with the Wilmington Community Orchestra as a winner of the 2023 Delaware Concerto Competition for the Young Musicians. Her precocious composing skills were also recognized for her performance and original composition, “Midnight Storm” by the Rieding International Competition.

Annabelle studies violin with J Freivogel, and previously Laura Bossert, as well as Lionel Thomas and Jessica Hoffman at the Music School of Delaware. She is currently a member of the Youth Chamber Orchestra directed by Aaron Picht and the chamber program at the Center for Gifted Young Musicians of Temple Music Prep. As a eighth-grader at the Sanford School in Hockessin, DE, her favorite activities outside of music are playing at her school's volleyball and soccer teams, training for track meets, as well as hanging out with her friends.
